Business Intelligence Analyst

Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of dealerships throughout the United Kingdom. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our IT team as a BI Analyst. The role will be internal customer-facing and will cover all aspects of the BI delivery process with a primary focus on BI development tasks such as the facilitation / clarification of requirements, data warehouse modelling and testing.

Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in / Leading BI requirement gathering
  • Analysis and support on data warehouse development requirements
  • Documentation of clear requirements for development and testing
  • Production and execution of test scripts for BI deliverables
  • Providing data warehousing and data analysis expertise, mentoring and best practice to support business users with their analyses and data queries
  • Keeping the BI Development Manager informed of progress and issues on a timely basis
  • Mentoring/support for junior team members
  • Deal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework
  • Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our Customers' needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection

What we're looking for:

  • Highly analytical and numerate
  • Ability to understand both the bigger picture as well as individual tasks
  • Ability to work both as part of a team, and individually
  • Solid work ethic with attention to detail
  • Technical experience in SQL, Oracle and Data Warehousing
  • Desirable experience in ETL applications and processes, analytical applications (such as SAS, Business Objects and Power BI)
  • Proven ability to understand both business and IT processes
  • Coaching and mentoring users throughout the BI development lifecycle and in the use of BI tools
  • Forward thinking, receptive to new ideas and suggestions, flexible, and able to look beyond the current way of doing things
  • A background in Financial Services would be advantageous
