Santander Consumer Finance (SCUK) is one of the UK’s Leading Motor Finance companies and we are currently looking for a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our Leasing team working in both our Milton Keynes and CLM Head Office in Newport Pagnell. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of good outcomes is central to all customer interactions, whilst also meeting key commercial performance and customer experience objectives. You will support the service, maintenance, and repair of our maintained fleet, ensuring vehicles are managed efficiently and to the highest standard. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising vehicle downtime, controlling costs, and delivering an excellent experience for both clients and end‑user drivers.

Important notes:

  • You will be required to attend the office full time, until initial new starter training has been completed.
  • This is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the CLM Newport Pagnell office for the first 6 months, after this time you will move to working in the Milton Keynes office.
  • Remote workers will not be considered.

Responsibilities for this role:

  • Reporting to the Customer Operations Manager, this position is integral to the smooth and effective operation of the Fleet Control department, contributing to overall service excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Managing, querying, and approving maintenance authorisation requests via 1link, phone, and email.
  • Ensuring the most cost‑effective solution is applied in line with defined client or product.
  • Instigating, investigating, and resolving any client or driver issues and queries.
  • Communicating bookings, updates, and query responses with drivers and fleet contacts via phone and email.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has vehicle maintenance or workshop experience (essential).
  • Has experience within customer services or operations within the automotive sector.
  • Can display an understanding of the general automotive repair standards and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrates adherence to SLAs set and high productivity levels.
  • Has experience of automotive repair and maintenance systems such as 1Link, Autodata or similar (desirable – not essential).
  • NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Light Vehicle) or City & Guilds equivalent (desirable – not essential).

Other things you need to know:

  • The hours for this post are 08:45-17:30 across Monday to Friday.
  • You will be required to attend the office full time, until the initial new starter training has been completed. After this time you will be able to start your hybrid working.
