The Business & Data Analyst provides analytical and business analysis capability across the Financial Support Business Unit (FSBU), supporting system change, process optimisation and operational improvement across the end-to-end Collections & Recoveries lifecycle. The role applies structured data analysis to inform change decisions, quantify impacts and ensure process and system enhancements are evidence-based, controlled and commercially sound. It acts as a bridge between Operations, Technology and Change, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and solutions are operationally viable. Experience in business analytics, data analytics and Collections & Recoveries is essential. Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.
Responsibilities will include:
- End-to-End Process & Operational Optimisation
- Analyse end-to-end Collections & Recoveries processes to identify inefficiencies, control gaps and automation opportunities.
- Assess system functionality and workflow design to support optimisation and scalability.
- Quantify operational impacts of proposed changes using data-driven analysis.
- Support re-engineering activity with evidence-based recommendations.
- Define measurable success metrics and track benefit realisation post-implementation.
- Business Analysis & Change Delivery
- Gather, structure and validate clear business and functional requirements for change initiatives across FSBU.
- Produce impact assessments covering operational, financial, regulatory, customer and system considerations.
- Support business case development through quantified cost, benefit and risk analysis.
- Translate analysis into structured documentation to support governance, decision-making and delivery.
- Support implementation planning to ensure changes are operationally viable and aligned to risk appetite.
- Define and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) against agreed requirements.
- Manage defect identification, prioritisation and resolution with Technology and Operations teams.
- Conduct post-implementation validation to confirm outcomes and realised benefits.
- Systems & Data Architecture Analysis
- Analyse systems supporting the Collections & Recoveries lifecycle to assess functional effectiveness, control robustness, automation potential and data integrity.
- Identify system-driven inefficiencies, manual workarounds and integration gaps.
- Support system configuration changes, workflow optimisation and transformation initiatives.
- Ensure system changes are underpinned by clear data definitions, reporting logic and control frameworks.
- Data Analysis for Change & Optimisation
- Perform structured analysis of operational and portfolio data to inform change initiatives.
- Assess financial, operational and customer impacts of system or process changes.
- Conduct scenario and impact modelling to support decision-making.
- Validate assumptions within business cases using quantitative analysis.
- Perform post-implementation analysis to confirm outcomes and identify residual risks or optimisation opportunities.
- Debt Sale & Strategic Support
- Support the preparation and execution of Debt Sale activity, including analysis of portfolio data, process readiness, system impacts and operational change requirements.
- Produce analysis and insight to support strategic or system transformation, efficiency delivery and Debt Sale execution, ensuring outputs are clear, evidence-based and actionable.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, producing robust analysis, documentation and delivery artefacts to support execution.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience working in a business analyst, change or continuous improvement role within a regulated financial services environment.
- Experience analysing and documenting business processes, requirements and impacts, ideally within Collections, Recoveries or Financial Support.
- Practical experience supporting the delivery of change initiatives, including impact assessments, risk assessments and business case support.
- Experience supporting system change or enhancement activity, working with Technology teams and/or third-party suppliers.
- Experience planning and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defect identification and resolution.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into clear insight and recommendations.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders across operational, technical and change functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation and present findings to stakeholders.
- Good understanding of operational risk, controls and regulatory considerations within a financial services environment.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities effectively in a delivery-focused role.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification or certification in Business Analysis (e.g. BCS Business Analysis, IIBA) is desirable.
