Job Description
Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of dealerships throughout the United Kingdom.
We are currently looking for a Risk Analyst to join our Risk department where you will be taking accountability and be an SME for several areas of risk reporting and analysis, clearly communicating results, developing, and recommending changes where appropriate.
Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office, remote workers will not be considered.
What you’ll be doing:
- Production of Risk reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Reviewing reports, and analysing, understanding, and documenting any anomalies
- Presenting reports and results at Forums
- Developing new reports using Excel, SAS, Business Objects and Power BI
- Providing analytics for the development and review of Credit Policy strategies
- Supporting Risk Appetite setting
- Subject Matter Expert in areas such as (but not exclusive to) Scorecard Cutoffs, Pre-Qualification, Regulatory reporting, and reporting for head office in Spain
- Ensuring data quality through raising change requests and investigative work
- Ad-hoc project work
- Supporting the relationship manager of 3rd party suppliers, including ensuring the reported data is correct, file downloads, data reviews, product reviews, supporting end-users, invoices tracked and processed
- Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, IT, and other end users within the business, including our 2 joint ventures
- Ensure SCF/SANUK and SCUK Retail policies and procedures are updated and approved at least on an annual basis, maintain the governance spreadsheet, and send out monthly reminders of those that are due soon
- Update policy library and the document register whilst arranged for them to get approved in the appropriate forum or committees
- Deal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework
- Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our customers’ needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection
What we’re looking for:
- Sound programming skills in SAS with good statistical modelling skills using SAS
- Good working knowledge of Business Intelligence
- Good working knowledge of using data warehouses and data driven investigations
- Strong numeracy and mathematical literacy
- High standard of personal integrity and decisiveness, in addition to problem-solving and influencing skills
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team to meet deadlines
- Must be able to adopt an organized and methodical approach to deliver personal and business objectives, using resources effectively to deliver the right thing in the right place at the right time
- Excellent interpersonal, team-working and communication skills
