As a Call Centre Advisor at Santander Consumer Finance, you will provide financial signposting, negotiate payment plans, and offer advice to customers in arrears. You will be part of a supportive team, trained and developed by a dedicated team leader, and will work full time in the office for the first 6 months before a hybrid assessment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving incoming calls and making outbound calls to customers in arrears via our automated & manual dialling system
  • Offering customers appropriate financial signposting, suitable options, and guidance on their finance agreement
  • Negotiating affordable payment plans acceptable to both Santander Consumer Finance and the customer, ensuring best outcomes as defined by CONC and adhering to mandates
  • Handling each call in a professional telephone manner with empathy and sympathy as required
  • Taking ownership of queries and complaints
  • Updating system records to ensure data is accurate and factual
  • Administering and maintaining customer agreements
  • Identifying and reporting vulnerability, escalating to Champions as dictated by circumstances
  • Dealing with or escalating risks relating to Santander Consumer risk policies, legislative and regulatory guidelines, and the Santander UK group risk framework
  • Protecting and enhancing customer and company interests
  • Aware of latest legislation and enforcement developments to offer best advice for customer decision-making
  • Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty, putting the customer's needs first and setting higher, clearer consumer protection standards

Working Hours

The team operates between 9 am and 6 pm. You will be required to work a 3‑weekly shift pattern Monday‑Friday between these hours. Hours may currently be 9 am‑5 pm or 10 am‑6 pm, with adequate notice if changes occur.
