Overview

You’ll be working within a successful team in the Corporate and Commercial Banking (CCB) area of Santander, delivering a best‑in‑class agency service on some of our larger, most complex lending transactions. No two days are the same, giving you the chance to develop a variety of skills. The team is responsible for all aspects of the facility agent role, including new deal closing, amendment and waiver management, document execution and in‑life facility management. There are a wide range of stakeholders and customers you will be in contact with on a regular basis, so excellent communication skills are pivotal to this role. Commitment to excellence in client servicing is fundamental and out of hours working may be required. Knowledge and experience of the syndicated loan market would be a distinct advantage for the successful candidate, as well as having the ability to grow and adapt quickly within an ambitious and innovative team. Responsibilities

  • Learn complex lending products, processes, and various lending platforms on the job.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to a wide range of external customers as part of a diverse team of lending experts.
  • Report to a Team Manager within Lending Services as part of your line management structure.
  • Provide invaluable support to internal stakeholders such as Relationship teams, Finance and Control, and others on a daily basis.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all internal policies and procedures for our lending products.
  • Innovate towards an improved customer and colleague experience.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience of syndicated lending (Required)
  • Experience working in an operational area within a Bank (Required)
  • Degree in finance or economics (Preferred)
  • Professional qualification from the Chartered Banker Institute or similar (Preferred)

Hard Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of complex lending products (Preferred)
  • Evidence of dealing with a range of stakeholders and customers (Required)
  • Evidence of mathematical ability through experience or education (Required)

Working Arrangement

Roles are site‑based with a hybrid working pattern; colleagues are expected to attend the office at least 12 days per month (pro‑rata for part‑time roles).

  • Annual salary is based on a standard 35‑hour working week.
