As an Assistant Relationship Manager in the Commercial Directs Primacy team, you will deliver excellent outcomes to our existing clients. The role focuses on supporting clients through ongoing due diligence (ODD) activities, maintaining relationship quality while meeting regulatory obligations, and supporting all aspects of the client journey for existing clients. You will work collaboratively with other areas of Santander UK and within the Assistant Relationship Manager community to aid training, development, and sharing best practice. Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with clients to grow wallet share.
  • Promote Santander products and services to customers and prospects by highlighting benefits and features.
  • Deliver day-to-day operational solutions for existing and new clients in a client-focused way, working with other areas of Santander UK to achieve this.
  • Build and grow an internal and external network of clients, key business introducers, and stakeholders.

What you’ll bring (Qualifications and Skills)

  • A strong understanding of banking products and services, including transactional banking and deposit products. (Required)
  • Experience in a customer-facing relationship manager role. (Required)
  • Well-developed skills in assessing risk of clients, particularly financial crime. (Required)
  • Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering requirements, ideally with corporate and commercial clients. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems and Office 365. (Preferred)
  • Working toward a relevant Financial Services qualification. (Preferred)

Hard Skills: Understanding of Banking products (required); AML/KYC/KYB awareness (required); Familiar with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) (preferred); Data and tech savvy (preferred).

Soft Skills: Relationship building (required); Communication & influencing (required); Collaboration across teams (required); Problem-solving under pressure (required); Adaptability in dynamic markets (required).

This role is site-based with a hybrid working pattern; colleagues are expected to attend the office at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
