Legal Counsel – Digital, Technology & Operations Legal

The Legal Counsel role sits within the Digital, Technology & Operations Legal team, advising on Digital, Technology, Operations, Infrastructure, Payments, Data Privacy and Intellectual Property. You will draft, negotiate and advise on outsourcing agreements and other technology contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice to business teams supporting structuring and implementation of innovation and technology projects.
  • Deliver expert, accurate, concise legal advice to senior stakeholders, ensuring it is understandable to non‑lawyers.
  • Offer creative solutions on complex matters, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Share technical skills and best practice, supporting colleagues and other departments through training and development of legal templates.
  • Monitor external legal developments and continuously seek to improve processes, practices and policies.
  • Answer legal queries and manage external suppliers/stakeholders to deliver advice and projects on time.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing legal advice that is readily understandable to non‑lawyers.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of outsourcing, digital, technology and commercial contract law.
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory regime impacting outsourcing in financial services (e.g., PRA SS2/21).
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience managing a large volume of matters and competing demands (preferred).
  • Excellent project management skills, managing multiple conflicting interests and deadlines (preferred).
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom is required.
