As Santam builds out its Exposure Management capabilities, this role offers an opportunity to explore an array of classes of business, managing exposures, providing technical analysis to underwriting teams, and helping to shape the Syndicate's nascent Exposure Management Framework.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prebind Pricing input: Deliver regular modelling output and exposure analysis to underwriting teams to support pricing and risk selection.
- Portfolio Management: Maintain modelled exposures for both modelled and non-modelled risk, ensuring data capture is timely and accurate.
- Regulatory Reporting: Assist the Head of Exposure Management in meeting all regulatory deadlines, including Lloyd’s RDS, LCM and other market returns.
- Internal Monitoring and reporting: Provide regular reporting covering key movements and utilisation of limits.
- Data Review: Ensure data cleansing best practices are maintained to ensure high-quality inputs for catastrophe modelling.
- Personal development: Develop an understanding of the Lloyd’s regulatory environment, review and understand changing industry approaches including new Lloyd’s and PRA guidance.
- Involvement in Project work: Assist in developing new approaches or detailed research into new territories/models. Support the validation of licensed models.
Experience & Technical Capabilities:
- Experience: Minimum of 18 months in an Exposure Management or Catastrophe Modelling role.
- Systems: Previous use of Verisk Touchstone. Good knowledge of Excel and basic programming skills desired.
Additional Requirements:
- Analytical Skills: Ability to recognise patterns, understand drivers of risk and condense findings to concise summaries.
- Communication: Excellent communicator, able to forge strong relationships and explain details to non-technical audiences.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data management and reporting.
