We are looking for an AI Software Engineer - Agentic Claude Code Python AWS to help build a healthcare AI platform.

We're looking for software engineers who direct and supervise AI agents to design, build, and ship software

You will own backend services end to end, and work closely with the CTO and VP Engineering.

What you'll do

  • Own the architecture for a defined part of the platform: the decisions about how services, data, and agents fit together, and why.
  • Break architectural and product goals into tasks that Claude Code (and other agents, where they fit) can execute, with the context, constraints, and acceptance criteria written up front rather than discovered through failed attempts.
  • Run multiple agent sessions against parallel workstreams at once, sequencing their output, resolving conflicts between what different agents produce, and deciding when to intervene directly versus re-prompt.
  • Build and refine the playbooks, prompts, skills and guardrails the rest of the team uses to brief agents consistently — this role sets the standard others follow
  • You will design and build secure, maintainable APIs and services, work closely with the product team to turn requirements into well-designed software, and set the standards that junior developers follow.
  • Design and build backend services in Python and Fast API: API endpoints, service logic, validation, business workflows and data access patter

What we're looking for

  • Agentic AI Engineering
  • Hands-on production experience directing an AI coding agent, ideally Claude Code, or a comparable tool such as Cursor or Devin.
  • Architecting systems
  • Python
  • AWS experience building and operating services
  • Experience migrating from legacy platforms to modern service-based architecture
  • Strong desire to work in a fast paced startup environment

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned.
