The R&D Data & AI Products and Platforms Team develops and delivers Data and AI products for R&D use cases, playing a critical role in democratizing data across R&D and scaling AI/ML, analytics, and operational capabilities.
As the Head of R&D Platform Engineering , you will lead a team committed to digital priorities in R&D, working with data architects and engineers to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, efficient platforms that support scientific data management and compute processing, including SIPS and SWEL.

Main Responsibilities:
Platform Development and Delivery:
- Define and execute vision and strategy for R&D platform engineering aligned with business objectives.
- Coordinate between technical teams and R&D stakeholders to prioritize initiatives.
- Develop and maintain roadmaps for data platforms, including SIPS and SWEL.
- Lead design, implementation, and optimization of platforms supporting R&D operations.
- Oversee architecture, deployment, and maintenance of system integration and lifecycle platforms.
- Communicate technical ideas effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Technical Data Management:
- Manage teams responsible for technical data activities.
- Work with teams to meet data management needs and provide technical solutions.
- Ensure platforms meet analytical and modeling requirements.
- Implement best practices in engineering processes.
- Manage project timelines and priorities.
About You
Key Functional Requirements & Qualifications:
- Master’s in computer science, engineering, or related field; 8-10 years in platform engineering, 6+ in leadership.
- Successful track record in platform projects across design, development, scaling, and maintenance.
- Understanding of R&D business and data environment preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Key Technical Requirements & Qualifications:
- Expertise in building large-scale data platforms with data lakes.
- Experience with data security, compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, AWS, Snowflake, Informatica.
- Experience with system integration, data streaming, and lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale platform deployments in complex R&D settings.
