Job Description:

The Assistant General Counsel, Specialty Care provides legal counsel for all levels of internal staff and serves as the legal lead for both global and US Oncology Franchise teams. This role supports Sanofi’s Oncology Franchise by advising on commercial operations, managing product legal support, and overseeing Oncology-related legal matters globally and in the US. The position involves strategic and transactional counseling, contract management, and advising on marketing, distribution, promotion, scientific exchange, and healthcare professional interactions. Candidates should have experience with global pharmaceutical companies and be capable of prioritizing multiple requests, delegating, and delivering high-quality service. Confidence working with senior leaders and independently across Sanofi is essential.

This role offers guidance on complex legal and business matters, coordinating legal support across Oncology to ensure consistent legal services. The candidate will provide prompt, strategic, and thorough legal input on advertising, promotion, fraud, abuse, healthcare laws, antitrust, and litigation issues.

Job Duties:

This role partners with senior commercial leadership in the Global & US Oncology franchise to incorporate legal advice into brand planning and strategy, including:

· Serving as the primary legal contact for the Oncology therapeutic business, coordinating legal assistance across all related commercial matters.

· Participating in the Global & US Oncology Leadership Teams, providing proactive legal support.

· Acting as legal reviewer for advertising and promotional materials, advising internal groups including commercial, sales, and medical affairs.

· Supporting business initiatives related to the Oncology therapeutic area.

· Ensuring consistency of legal advice across the Oncology support team.

· Providing input into product launches and commercial initiatives.

· Managing review and negotiation of contracts and amendments.

· Assisting colleagues with adherence to policies, legislative developments, and managing internal and external resources, requiring organizational skills, autonomy, and attention to detail.

· Overseeing legal issues related to FDA and other regulations, including the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, competition law, and healthcare interactions.

· Managing multiple subject matters across the company, identifying experts, and coordinating reviews.

· Operating with limited supervision, requiring good judgment, prioritization, and the ability to learn about various legal and business areas. The role involves identifying potential legal issues and proposing mitigation solutions.

Position is based in Cambridge, MA (preferred) or Morristown, NJ, with a hybrid work model.

Basic Qualifications:

· BA/BS, Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school

· Active State Bar admission

· 8+ years of legal experience

· Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and standard software

Preferred Qualifications:

· 5+ years in pharma/biotech or FDA or relevant agency experience

· Management experience
