What will you be doing?

The Sanjay Mortimer Foundation is looking for an experienced Website & SEO Specialist to help us transform our online presence and ensure more people discover our work supporting neurodivergent young people into STEM.

Founded in memory of engineer and inventor Sanjay Mortimer, our charity provides opportunities, funding and support for neurodivergent young people aged 11–25 who want to pursue careers in engineering, manufacturing and technology. We also organise the Sanjay Mortimer RepRap Festival (SMRRF), one of the UK's largest community-led 3D printing festivals, bringing together thousands of visitors, educators, makers and industry leaders while raising vital funds for our charitable work.

As our programmes continue to grow, we recognise that our website needs to better reflect the impact of our work and make it easier for visitors to find information, donate, volunteer, apply for opportunities and engage with our community.

We are looking for a volunteer who can help us redesign and optimise our website, creating a modern, accessible and engaging experience for our audiences.

Key responsibilities may include

  • Reviewing the current website and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Improving the overall user experience (UX), navigation and site structure.
  • Carrying out an SEO audit and implementing best practice recommendations.
  • Optimising page titles, metadata, image alt text and internal linking.
  • Advising on website accessibility and ensuring pages are easy to navigate across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Improving the structure of key areas including our programmes, events, fundraising and resources.
  • Helping us increase website traffic, donations, volunteer enquiries and event registrations.
  • Advising on Google Search Console, Google Analytics and other tools to help us measure success.
  • Working with our Marketing & Events Manager to prioritise improvements and implement practical changes.

We currently manage the website in-house and already have content, branding and photography available. We are looking for someone who can bring professional expertise, challenge our thinking and help us create a website that truly represents the Foundation and supports our long-term growth.

We are flexible in how the project is delivered. Whether you can commit a few hours each week or prefer to work towards agreed milestones, we would love to hear from you. Meetings can take place remotely at times that suit you.

Your expertise will have a lasting impact. By improving our website, you'll help more neurodivergent young people access life-changing STEM opportunities, enable more supporters to engage with our mission, and strengthen the digital foundations of a growing national charity.
