The Role: What You’ll Actually Be Doing
As our Junior Business Development Representative (Events), you’ll be responsible for driving interest, engagement, and qualified opportunities off the back of our high-impact events. You’ll be the first point of contact for many of our prospective partners, whether they’re coming from a biotech, health tech startup, pharma company, or leading NHS trust. You’ll work alongside our commercial, events, and marketing teams to ensure that every handshake, every conversation, and every panel moment turns into pipeline. You’ll love speaking to people, spotting opportunities, and nudging a good chat into a booked meeting. This role is based full-time in our Canary Wharf office, because we believe some of the best energy, collaboration, and momentum happens in person.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and identify high-potential leads from event attendee lists, CRM data, industry networks, and market intel
- Initiate meaningful outreach through phone, email, LinkedIn, and follow-ups from events, no spam, just smart, human messaging
- Qualify leads quickly and thoughtfully based on interest, fit, and urgency, and seamlessly hand them over to Account Executives
- Book meetings and demos with precision, your calendar will be your scoreboard
- Collaborate closely with Events and Marketing to understand campaign focus, pre/post-event activity, and prospect sentiment
- Track outreach activity and conversion metrics using HubSpot and internal reporting tools
- Feed back insights from conversations to help sharpen our strategy and storytelling
- Be a vibrant presence in the office, bringing energy, ideas, and momentum to the wider team
About You
- You have at least 1–2 years of experience in sales, business development, events, or outreach
- You’re naturally curious, articulate, and persistent, you love connecting with people and spotting win-win opportunities
- You’re confident across communication channels, with a sharp eye for messaging that cuts through
- You enjoy fast-paced, ambitious environments, and you’re ready to grow with a scaling company
- You’re data-aware and know how to keep your outreach structured and effective
- You want your work to feel meaningful, and healthcare matters to you
- Bonus points if you’ve worked in health, events, or tech, but passion and potential matter more
