Sanitas Cura Ltd is seeking an experienced Responsible Individual (RI) to provide governance, oversight, and regulatory leadership across our Ofsted-registered children's residential homes. This role is central to ensuring our services meet the requirements of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, deliver safe and effective care, and achieve positive outcomes for children and young people in solo placements with 2:1 staffing.
Essential Criteria
- Eligible to be registered with Ofsted as a Responsible Individual
- Significant experience in children's residential care, including:
- Minimum 5 years' relevant sector experience, and
- At least 2 years in a senior leadership or management role (e.g. Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, Area/Regional role)
- Children's Homes Regulations 2015 & Quality Standards
- Safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance
- Ofsted inspection frameworks and compliance expectations
- Quality assurance, audits, and service improvement
- Oversight of safeguarding, incidents, and notifications
- Supporting and challenging Registered Managers
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Ofsted-registered Responsible Individual for the service
- Ensure ongoing compliance with legislation, regulations, and company policies
- Provide leadership oversight across residential homes
- Support, supervise, and hold Registered Managers accountable
- Monitor safeguarding, incidents, and risk management
- Lead audits, compliance checks, and service development
- Liaise with Ofsted, Local Authorities, and external professionals
Desirable Experience
- Experience with solo placements and high-level staffing models (2:1)
- Background in trauma-informed or complex needs care
- Experience supporting services through Ofsted inspection
