Do you want to help us improve human health and understand life on Earth? Make your mark by shaping the future to enable or deliver life-changing science to solve some of humanity’s greatest challenges. Help shape the future of procurement and supply operations at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, a world-leading genomics research organisation. As our Oracle Fusion Workstream Lead, you will provide senior functional leadership for the Institute's Supply Partnerships & Operations (SP&O) workstream, covering procurement and supply chain, within a major Oracle Fusion ERP transformation programme.

You will bring together procurement, supply chain, technology, programme and supplier stakeholders to translate business needs into an effective Oracle Fusion solution and ensure the Institute is ready for successful deployment and go-live.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in a significant organisational transformation. Acting as the principal SP&O subject matter expert, you will connect the needs of the business with our Oracle Fusion programme, system integrator and implementation partners.

  • Lead the SP&O workstream, coordinating resources and representing business requirements within programme governance.
  • Shape Oracle Fusion Procurement and supply chain solution design, ensuring requirements translate into effective, scalable end-to-end processes.
  • Drive supplier enablement, including supplier onboarding, data readiness, testing and adoption of the Oracle Fusion Supplier Portal and digital procurement processes.
  • Lead testing and quality assurance, including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and end-to-end process testing.
  • Prepare teams and suppliers for deployment through business readiness, change management, data migration, cutover and go-live activities.
  • Manage relationships with key implementation and delivery partners, monitoring performance, resolving issues and escalating significant risks where required.

About You

You will bring strong procurement or supply chain expertise alongside experience of ERP implementation or business transformation. Just as importantly, you will be able to bring people together, navigate complexity and influence decisions across business, technical and external partner teams.

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Source-to-Contract (S2C), supplier management and inventory.
  • Experience leading a procurement, supply chain or supply operations workstream within a major ERP implementation or transformation programme.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams, programme governance groups and external partners.
  • Experience leading business engagement through solution design, testing, implementation and deployment readiness.
  • Strong programme delivery and problem-solving capability, including managing competing priorities and facilitating complex decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues, risks and recommendations for different audiences.

Experience implementing Oracle Fusion Procurement or Oracle Fusion Supply Chain Management (SCM) would be valuable but is not essential. Experience working with system integrators or delivering transformation within research, science, higher education, healthcare or not-for-profit organisations would also be beneficial.

We recognise that relevant expertise can be gained in different organisations, sectors and career paths. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and encourage you to apply if you believe your skills and experience could enable you to succeed in the role, even if you do not meet all the desirable criteria.
