Sandy Pines is seeking a dynamic and talented Night Shift Unit Coordinator. Sandy Pines Residential Treatment Center is a 149‑bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is located in beautiful sub‑tropical South Florida.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the milieu of the units assigned and supervising the Mental Health Technicians on their assigned unit.
  • Assist the Charge Nurse in organizing and monitoring all aspects of resident care.
  • Represent the Mental Health Technicians in committee meetings.
  • Observe patients to detect behaviour patterns and document observations.
  • Take and record measures of patients’ general physical condition, such as pulse, temperature, blood pressure and respiration.
  • Notify Charge Nurse or appropriate staff of abnormal values.
  • Facilitate patient education and activity groups.
  • Assist the patient with ADLs and personal needs (i.e., management of clothing and property; grooming).
  • Use approved verbal and physical de‑escalation techniques.
  • Escort patients to meals, breaks and other activities.
  • Promote a therapeutic environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and three to five years’ experience working with children or adolescents required, or A.A. degree and one year experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Previous psych experience preferred.
  • Current CPR Certification (training provided).
  • Detail oriented and ability to successfully multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and organization skills.
  • Highly effective listening skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous verbal and written communication, hearing ordinary conversation.
  • Occasionally hearing high pitched or low‑pitched sounds.
  • Continuous firm/simple grasping and fine manipulating of both hands.
