Are you an experienced and passionate SEND practitioner ready to make a lasting difference? Bligh Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic SENCo to lead and coordinate our SEND provision, ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to flourish academically, socially and emotionally. This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and inclusive school community where inclusion sits at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role

As SENCo, you will work closely with the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, staff, families and external agencies to ensure high-quality provision for pupils with SEND. You will:

  • Lead the day-to-day implementation of the school's SEND policy and provision
  • Identify, assess and monitor pupils with SEND
  • Coordinate interventions and support programmes
  • Support teachers to deliver inclusive, high-quality classroom practice
  • Manage EHCP processes and annual reviews
  • Maintain accurate SEND records and statutory documentation
  • Liaise effectively with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Deliver guidance and training to colleagues on SEND strategies and best practice
  • Act as the school's Designated Teacher for Looked After Children (DLACT)
  • Contribute to the continued development of an inclusive school culture

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination or is willing to work towards it
  • Has experience supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of inclusive practice and the SEND Code of Practice
  • Has excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals
  • Is committed to improving outcomes and removing barriers to learning
  • Shares our belief that every child can succeed
