New Preschool Opening in Sevenoaks – September 2026. We are excited to be opening a new preschool in Sevenoaks this September and are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated SENCO Coordinator to join our founding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape an inclusive, nurturing, and ambitious early years environment from the very beginning. We are seeking a professional who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the preschool.
- Identify, assess, and support children with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Develop and review Individual Support Plans and targeted interventions.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, staff, and external professionals.
- Support practitioners in delivering high-quality inclusive practice.
- Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate SEND documentation.
- Ensure compliance with the EYFS Framework and SEND Code of Practice.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and high expectations for all children.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
- SENCO qualification or willingness to undertake SENCO training.
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS and SEND Code of Practice.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs in an early years setting.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a SENCO role.
- Experience working with external agencies and local authority services.
- Knowledge of speech and language development, autism, and early intervention strategies.
