We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive School Business Manager to join our senior leadership team and play a key role in driving the school’s strategic, financial and operational success. We are a small, friendly school with a supportive team and a staffroom full of laughter! A nurturing environment is important to us and we are fortunate to be surrounded by an impressive outdoor learning environment.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead support staff, manage resources, and ensure that all business functions operate efficiently and in line with the school’s vision and improvement priorities.
  • Oversee the school’s finances, including budget planning, monitoring and reporting, procurement and income generation.
  • Manage HR processes, payroll, and support effective staffing structures.
  • Work with the Site Manager for key areas of compliance, health and safety, and administrative systems, ensuring the school meets statutory requirements and maintains robust policies, risk management processes and record‑keeping.
  • Work closely with the headteacher and governing body, contribute to strategic planning, and support high standards of site management and staff wellbeing.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work confidently across finance, HR, operations, and compliance. The postholder must uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute positively to the school community.
