Ripplevale School and College is a thriving independent special school, for 170 students aged 6 to 25 years old, located in the historic town of Rochester. As part of the Ripplevale family of schools, we provide a holistic, child‑centred approach to meeting the needs of our students, most of whom have an Education and Health Care Plan. Identified needs may include ASC, dyslexia, speech, language and communication difficulties, DCD, sensory, and high levels of anxiety.

Your new role

As a Teacher of Art, you will inspire students across key stages by delivering dynamic and engaging lessons that develop their artistic skills and creativity. You will play a key role in fostering a love for art and encouraging students to express themselves confidently through a variety of media.

Key responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teaching a range of techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support improvement

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Art, Fine Art, or a related creative discipline
  • Experience teaching Art at secondary level (ECTs/NQTs are encouraged to apply)
  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic techniques and mediums
  • The ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities and backgrounds
  • Excellent organisational and classroom management skills
