Parkview Academy, part of ALP Schools, is a specialist provision supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including social, emotional and behavioural needs. We provide a nurturing, structured and aspirational learning environment where pupils are supported to re-engage with education and thrive both academically and personally.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teacher to join our team. You will work with small groups of primary-aged pupils, delivering a broad, engaging and differentiated curriculum designed to meet individual learning needs. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with SEND and challenging behaviour, helping them to develop core academic skills, social confidence and independence. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference at an early stage of a child’s educational journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the primary curriculum
  • Develop and adapt schemes of work to meet individual pupil needs
  • Differentiating teaching to support pupils with SEND and additional needs
  • Teach across the primary curriculum, including literacy, numeracy and life skills
  • Create a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment
  • Monitor pupil progress, maintain accurate records and contribute to assessments
  • Work closely with LSAs, Tutors and senior staff to support pupil outcomes
  • Implement behaviour support strategies consistently and positively
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement and team planning

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS / QTLS
  • Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within SEND or alternative provision
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and behaviour support strategies
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may be disengaged from learning
  • Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection

Desirable:

  • Qualifications or experience in SEND or behaviour management
  • Experience working in alternative provision or specialist settings
  • Degree-level qualification
  • Experience supporting or leading other staff
