Bean Primary School is currently seeking a conscientious, reliable and hard-working individual who can make good use of their initiative to join our successful team as the Premises Manager for the school. This is a critical role that facilitates the school running effectively, allowing staff to promote the education and wellbeing of our 210 pupils.
The successful candidate will be competent in DIY to a good standard to maintain the positive environment established across the site; a ‘no job too small’ attitude will be required. Compliance is another key area that will need to be adhered to, so good organisational skills along with a positive and friendly disposition will be essential in order to work with tradesmen and staff. A knowledge of Health and Safety, security, cleaning and ground maintenance will be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be able to carry out their duties whilst maintaining respectful and appropriate communication with pupils. You will need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and have the aptitude and initiative to solve problems and plan your workload appropriately. A good level of general maintenance skills is crucial as well as the ability to work flexibly amongst a high performing and positive team. This will include occasional work out of normal school hours (evening and weekends) and also work during school holidays.
All applicants will need to be in good health with a reasonable level of fitness due to the physical nature of the work, lone working and some work at height. Visits to the school are encouraged. Due to the school environment, an enhanced DBS check will be completed on appointment and references will be required from former employers. The school takes the safeguarding of our pupils extremely seriously as our number one priority is the welfare of our pupils. Child protection awareness training will be provided as part of the induction. Managing confidential information is essential to this role.
This post can be term time only or full-time depending on the suitability of the applicant and is for 37.5 hours per week (also negotiable).
