Due to the continued success and growth of our school community, we are looking to expand our incredible team of staff and are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team at Burham Church of England Primary School.

We are looking to appoint staff to support both in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, and successful candidates must be willing to work flexibly across both key stages as required. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is motivated, caring and keen to make a positive difference to children’s learning and wellbeing within a supportive, inclusive school community. There may also be the opportunity to support and help develop our popular Breakfast Club provision, providing children with a positive, nurturing and engaging start to the school day. This would suit someone who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils and contributing to the wider life of the school community.

The successful candidate will be understanding, patient and adaptable, with excellent literacy and numeracy skills, alongside effective oral and written communication skills. We expect all staff to make a positive contribution to every aspect of school life and to actively support the school’s vision of SHINE, promoting high expectations, respect and a love of learning. You will be a highly efficient, flexible and reliable individual who can build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents. A calm, nurturing approach and the ability to motivate and encourage children of varying abilities are essential.

We are looking for an energetic, supportive and positive team player who brings enthusiasm, a sense of humour and excellent interpersonal skills to the role. As part of the role, you will be expected to:

  • Work with individual pupils and small groups, supporting learning and ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged
  • Deliver SEN interventions in line with individual support plans
  • Provide constructive feedback to pupils to support progress and confidence
  • Lead small groups for specific learning activities
  • Support the class teacher in creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment

Working hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (28.75 hours per week with opportunity to extend for breakfast club provision).
