Our Aim Liberty Training is an organisation devoted to improving the lives of society's most vulnerable and needy individuals, supporting them to achieve the most in their lives. With our combined knowledge and experience, Liberty Training delivers an optimum service to help young people achieve their full potential and make a positive impact on society through our nurturing and supportive Specialist Post-16 College and our soon to be established high school, Liberty High.

As an Advisor at Liberty Training, you will support the development of the college in line with the college’s development plan, supporting and challenging leaders to deliver excellence for the students, families, and staff.

Requirements

  • This is a voluntary role; travel expenses incurred as a result of fulfilling your role as advisor will be reimbursed.
  • You will be required to attend six meetings per academic year, one per half term.
  • You must have an outgoing, friendly and confident personality with a positive attitude and a passion for helping others.
  • Our team are motivational speakers, inspirers, and energisers who broaden horizons and break down barriers to progression.
  • We have a learner-centred approach and are looking for someone with the same philosophy.
  • We have a holistic approach to working with our learners, helping them wherever possible with the challenges that life may throw at them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advisors work together to carry out their core functions.
  • Ensuring there is clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
  • Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its students and the performance management of staff.
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
  • Ensuring the voices of stakeholders are heard.
  • Advisors must also ensure that the governing body complies with all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Advisors should seek the advice of the Governance Professional and other professional advice as appropriate.
