Priory Infant School is seeking to appoint a committed, skilled, and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. This fixed-term position is for 32.5 hours per week (8:15am – 3:45pm, Monday to Friday), working 39 weeks per year (term time plus INSET days), in the first instance for one year. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school and helping our pupils achieve their very best.

About the Role

  • Deliver high-quality learning activities, including leading whole-class teaching during teacher absence or PPA cover
  • Provide targeted interventions and support for pupils to raise attainment and progress
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils, including those with additional needs
  • Promote independence, wellbeing, and engagement in learning

You will work collaboratively with staff and may also contribute to supporting and guiding other support staff.

What We Are Looking For

  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above
  • Has HLTA status or is willing to work towards it
  • Has at least two years’ experience working within a school setting
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment, and can work independently as well as part of a team
  • Is passionate about supporting all children to succeed and is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and confidentiality
