The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teacher to join our team. You will work with small groups of primary‑aged pupils, delivering a broad, engaging and differentiated curriculum designed to meet individual learning needs. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with SEND and challenging behaviour, helping them to develop core academic skills, social confidence and independence. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference at an early stage of a child’s educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the primary curriculum
- Develop and adapt schemes of work to meet individual pupil needs
- Differentiating teaching to support pupils with SEND and additional needs
- Teach across the primary curriculum, including literacy, numeracy and life skills
- Create a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment
- Monitor pupil progress, maintain accurate records and contribute to assessments
- Work closely with LSAs, Tutors and senior staff to support pupil outcomes
- Implement behaviour support strategies consistently and positively
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families
- Contribute to whole‑school improvement and team planning
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS / QTLS
- Experience working with primary‑aged children, ideally within SEND or alternative provision
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and behaviour support strategies
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may be disengaged from learning
- Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Desirable:
- Qualifications or experience in SEND or behaviour management
- Experience working in alternative provision or specialist settings
- Degree‑level qualification
- Experience supporting or leading other staff
