Are you someone who has a broad range of world knowledge? Would you like to work with teenagers, helping them develop their knowledge base? Are you considering a career in teaching but are not sure if the classroom is for you?

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate learning by KS3 to KS5 students in a safe and secure environment, providing in class cover for absent teaching staff.
  • Undertake other non-teaching duties as directed during non-cover lessons including the provision of administrative support for specified projects and 1:1 or small group LSA support for SEN students within lessons.

Qualifications:

  • Have a wide range of interests.
  • Be enthusiastic about learning.
  • Relate well to teenagers.
  • Be confident to lead whole classes of approx. 30 learners.
  • Will liaise and communicate effectively with staff and students, becoming part of the school community.
  • Be proactive to engage with students, using materials left for classes.
  • Develop their own resources to supplement teacher resources.
  • Be familiar with the use of ICT resources and teacher resources.
  • Must have good attendance and punctuality record.
  • Will be interested in undertaking teacher training in the future.
