About the Role
Pierview Academy is a small independent school supporting young people with special educational needs and challenging behaviour. We are seeking a dedicated Tutor to deliver engaging lessons to small groups of learners within our Foundation Learning curriculum, covering English, Maths, ICT, vocational learning, and personal and social development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons that motivate and support learners’ progress.
- Track and record learner achievement and behaviour.
- Build positive relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues.
- Guide Learning Support Assistants and promote a positive learning environment.
- Uphold the school’s ethos of ARRRT.
- Ensure individual needs, risk assessments, and support plans are followed.
About You
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
- Experience working with young people, ideally with SEND or behavioural needs.
- Confident in behaviour management and inclusive teaching.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to learner success.
- Willing to undertake relevant training (e.g., Team Teach).
