ALP Pierview Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the teaching of learners who, for various reasons, do not access mainstream education and have single or multiple special educational needs (SEN). You will deliver engaging, personalized lessons to learners one-to-one and in small groups, support other teachers, and contribute to tracking learner progress. The role may involve teaching across the school's age range of 11-25 years.

Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver a personalized curriculum for SEN learners who have struggled in mainstream settings.
- Work alongside the Senior Management Team to create schemes of work and resources suitable for SEN learners.
- Support and line-manage teachers and staff working with SEN learners.
- Lead small group work and coordinate Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants effectively.
- Deliver subject-specialist lessons while also teaching a variety of subjects using SEN-specific strategies.
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to colleagues, learners, and management.
- Promote positive values, attitudes, and behaviour in pupils, supporting inclusion and engagement.
- Contribute to the school's 'Communication Commitment' initiative and wider educational development.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
- Experience working with SEN learners, including social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
- Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and the SEND Code of Practice
- Ability to plan and teach effectively using a variety of strategies
- Excellent interpersonal skills with adults and children
- Strong organization, planning, and time-management skills
- Empathetic, flexible, and committed to raising student achievement
- Experience leading or coordinating a team
- Additional qualifications in SEN, speech, language, communication, or behaviour management
- Experience teaching the national or functional skills curriculum
- Knowledge of ICT to enhance learning and lesson delivery
