The role will predominantly involve working with individual pupils with special educational needsas well assmall groups.
We are looking for someone to join our team with a passion for inclusion and supporting children to be the best they can be.
Our idealcandidate is someone who is driven to improve the life outcomes of pupils with SEN through our Inclusive Learning Community, rooted in God.
It is essential that applicants share this ethos and vision of the school.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have experience of working in a trauma informed school and experience of, or an interest in working closely with children with complex Special Needs including sensory needs and ASC.
You must have
- GCSE English and Maths C or equivalent
- A calm and flexible approach
- Good understanding of ICT
- Good understanding of school policies and procedures relating to health & safety, behaviour, attendance, equal opportunities and child protection.
- A Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, or experience of working with children
Skills and experience which are desirable are
- Experience of working with children with complex needs
- Makaton and experience of working with alternative forms of communication
- Experience and willingness to undertake intimate care
