We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and proactive Cover Supervisor to join our vibrant school community. In this rewarding role, you\’ll play a key part in ensuring continuity of learning by stepping in to teach lessons when teachers are absent. You\’ll help maintain a positive, engaging classroom atmosphere and support students in achieving their best.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans and keep students engaged in their learning.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all pupils, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and autism.
- Communicate with students in a way that encourages curiosity, confidence, and classroom participation.
- Support the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Offer mentoring or tutoring when needed, helping students build skills and confidence.
- Use your creativity to support learning—especially in activities involving reading and writing.
- Work closely with teachers to maintain consistent educational experiences across classes.
- Confidently manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive interactions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children, especially those with SEN or autism.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A flexible and resilient mindset—you’ll be comfortable thinking on your feet.
- Experience in mentoring or tutoring is a bonus!
- A flair for creative writing is a plus—imagination goes a long way in the classroom!
- Above all, a genuine passion for education and a desire to make a real difference.
Term-Time Only – What Does That Mean?
This is aterm-time only role, which means you will work during the 38 weeks of the school year when pupils are in session. You’ll have the school holidays off—perfect for work‑life balance, family time, or personal development!
Your salary will be proratedto reflect the 38 working weeks, meaning you’re paid for the weeks you work plus a portion of holiday pay, then this total is spread evenly over 12 months for consistency.
