Overview

We are looking for a Communications Assistant, starting 17/11/2025, to support children in our Registered Provision for Hearing Impaired children. This is initially a temporary contract until July 2026. Depending on numbers of children attending and securing the necessary funding, there is a possibility that the contract will continue into the next Academic Year in September 2026. Ideally we would like this to be a full time position (term time only) but we are willing to be flexible for the right candidate.

Requirements / Ideal Candidate

  • experience of supporting children with social and communication difficulties
  • experience and/or qualification in British Sign Language up to Level 2
  • recent experience of working in schools and supporting children
  • flexibility and a genuine desire to get the best from children

Details

The position will be for 30 hours per week, working 8.30am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday. You will be paid on a pro rata basis for these hours and for 39 weeks a year. Please make it clear on your application if you are not able to manage these hours and state clearly how many hours per week you would be available.
