Elms School is looking to recruit a cleaner to join the current cleaning team who play a key role within the school.
The successful candidate will be a team player who takes pride in their work. You will need to be flexible, reliable and have a professional approach towards your work and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
The role will require you to:
- Undertake cleaning of allocated areas in line with specified standards and as directed (this includes classrooms, halls, toilets etc)
- Operate / use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriate training
- Store allocated equipment and materials safely and securely
- Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and take action where hazards are identified, report serious hazards to line manager immediately
- Collect and dispose of waste
- Refill and replace soap, towels and other materials
- Notify the Line Manager or other senior member of staff, of any Health & Safety concerns including damage to building, equipment or anything that may be dangerous to pupils and/or staff
You will need to be:
- To be physically fit
- To be reliable, punctual and have excellent attendance
- Possess a flexible and adaptable approach to working patterns and job tasks
- Observe safe working practices in carrying out the required duties.
- Team player, personable, emotionally intelligent with a sense of humour
