We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Afterschool Club Assistant to join our team and help create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for our pupils at the end of the school day.

In this role, you’ll support the day‑to‑day running of our afterschool provision, helping to deliver enjoyable activities, supervising play, and ensuring all children feel welcomed and included. You’ll work closely with other staff to provide a positive experience that supports children’s wellbeing, creativity, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming children and ensuring they are safely registered in and out
  • Supervising a range of activities including crafts, games, outdoor play, and quiet time
  • Supporting positive behaviour and promoting a caring, inclusive environment
  • Preparing light snacks and maintaining good hygiene standards
  • Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and staff
  • Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times

The hours of work are 3 days a week, 2.5 hours per day, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 3:15pm – 5:45pm during term time only (7.5 hours per week).

The successful candidate will support our Christian values and ethos. Charing CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
