Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant – The Meadow Inclusion Base
The post is for 30 hours per week (8:30 – 3:30 Monday to Friday) term time only. 1yr contract initially.
Pay details: KSE £27,852
Pro rata based on working 30 hours per week 38 weeks per year £19,179.42
We are seeking a dedicated, skilled and compassionate Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join The Meadow Inclusion Base, our specialist provision supporting pupils with Complex Communication & Interaction (C&I) and Cognition & Learning (C&L) needs.
The successful candidate need not have previous primary school experience. Experience working in a Portage role or EYFS SEN pre-school role would be ideal.

The Role
As a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SEND professionals and families to support pupils with complex needs. You will play a key role in delivering personalised learning, promoting independence and ensuring every child feels valued, understood and successful.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality support for pupils with complex Communication & Interaction and Cognition & Learning needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning programmes.
- Support pupils’ communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
- Adapt resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and external agencies.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and aspirational learning environment.
- Support care needs of the children.
