We are seeking an experienced and dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and friendly team. In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting a child who is on the Autism Pathway: Providing tailored support, helping them navigate the school day and engage with their learning activities.
- Using innovative and effective strategies to encourage the child's learning and participation in the classroom.
- Implementing positive behaviour management strategies to support the child in managing their emotions and behaviour.
- Maintaining a safe and calming space for the child to use when they need a break or some time to regulate their emotions.
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff members to ensure the child's needs are met and they are included in all aspects of school life.
- Establishing strong, trusting relationships with the child, their family, and the wider school community.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with autism and managing challenging behaviour.
- A compassionate, patient, and positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
