The T3 School is a small, independent, specialist school, offering education to students with special educational needs, including social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties from age eleven through to sixteen years of age. We are looking to add an enthusiastic and self-motivated teacher/tutor to our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to help grow the school and shape your subject.
You will be working with children, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Our smaller, more personal setting provides an environment where our learners can thrive and succeed in a warm, safe space. The school's objective is to cultivate 'resilience in learning and life'. This primary goal is a thread that is woven into teaching, learning and wider curriculum.
We offer a holistic pedagogy, which empowers our learners in their academic, cultural, emotional and social development. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to students with a range of learning difficulties, helping them to reach their full academic and personal potential.
For the above role, a teaching qualification is desirable. However, for the right candidate, relevant teaching experience in a similar role and SEN environment would be considered equally relevant. The role will be demanding and challenging, but very rewarding.
You will need:
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivation
- Flexibility
- Effective time management
- The ability to work as part of a close-knit team
An understanding of the ethos of the school and the ability to work within this ethos in order to support and develop all learners regardless of ability, education, behaviour, social or emotional needs.
To prepare and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons, adapted to meet the specific needs of students with special educational needs. Implement effective and positive behaviour management strategies to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
To develop and implement (in collaboration with subject leaders) individual student plans that incorporate EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets, set data-driven goals and track student progress. To assess students' work and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians on progress and development.
To liaise and collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team, including therapists, educational psychologists, social workers, and support staff (Teaching Assistants) to ensure holistic support for each student. To contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.
The successful candidate will have a direct impact on pupils' lives, raising aspirations and improving opportunities for our young people. The T3 School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other relevant employment checks, including overseas criminal background, where applicable.
