Full time permanent position – 39 hours per week

Salary – IRO £28000-£32000 / Dependent upon experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect work at all critical stages of the process, including process approval, masking, and final inspection prior to packaging and dispatch.
  • Ensure all inspection, documentation, and processing activities comply with customer requirements, internal process standards, specifications, and good practice.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspection of components using appropriate handheld measuring equipment.
  • Identify and record omissions, defects, and non‑conformances raising issues through Sandwell’s internal Non‑Conformance Reporting system.
  • Communicate quality-related issues clearly with internal departments and escalate concerns to senior team members when necessary.
  • Monitor and record blasting media condition in accordance with Sandwell’s quality system procedures.
  • Monitor other key process parameters affecting quality and ensure records are accurately maintained.
  • Support the Quality Manager and wider team with day to day quality tasks and contribute to continuous improvement activities.

Skills and Attributes

  • High attention to detail with a methodical approach to inspection and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within the Quality team.
  • Sound understanding of quality control principles and process compliance.
  • Comfortable using handheld measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to raise questions or concerns appropriately.
  • Organised, reliable, and capable of managing multiple inspection tasks.
  • Proactive attitude towards identifying issues and contributing to continuous improvement.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a quality inspection, quality technician, or manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience inspecting components and completing quality documentation.
  • Experience working with non‑conformance reporting systems (internal and/or customer-based).
  • Familiarity with customer specifications, engineering drawings, or process standards (desirable).
  • Experience working within a regulated or controlled process environment (desirable).
  • Experience of working within our main customer sectors of Formula 1 Motorsport or Aerospace (desirable).
