The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Taxi Licensing Team. We are looking for a customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills and a desire to make a difference.

The team currently covers the hours of 8 am to Noon, then 1 pm to 4 pm each day, with a 3.30 pm finish on a Friday. However, this may change in the Autumn if the team relocates to the Sandwell Council House, when the hours will be 9 am to 5 pm each day, with a 4.30 pm finish on a Friday.

You will assist in processing applications for driver, vehicle, and operator licences in line with the Council's Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Licensing Policy, provide advice and guidance on licensing matters both on the phone and in person, and give evidence in court as required.

You will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience dealing with the general public in a front-line capacity
  • Experience working in a high-pressure and busy environment
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience in data inputting and handling customer payment transactions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must hold or be prepared to undertake BTEC qualifications offered by NALEO or licensing qualifications offered by the Institute of Licensing, or have 3 GCSEs Grade C or above including English and Maths or equivalent
