Sandwell Museum Service is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Visitor Services Assistant to support all aspects of the day to day running of our museum sites. The post holder will deliver a high standard of customer care and public service to visitors of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

The post holder will join our busy creative team organising and delivering exciting events and activities to visitors, users, and the local community, as well as setting up rooms and resources for users and activities and clearing away after use.

The post holder will gain knowledge about our buildings and collection and impart this to visitors and users through reception duties, room guiding, guided tours, hands-on activities, and costumed interpretation.

The post holder will also work behind the scenes on administration duties to support the running of a busy heritage attraction and community space including data collection, procurement, taking bookings, liaising with partners and tradespeople, cash handling, and banking as well as cleaning.

The post holder will need a flexible approach to working as there will be regular weekends throughout most of the year, some bank holidays, and occasional evening working, but standard working days will currently be Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week to a flexible rota including regular weekends and some evenings and bank holidays.
