Multi Trade Operative in Oldbury

Sandwell Council is seeking a skilled and reliable Multi Trade Operative to join our Repairs Service, delivering high-quality housing repairs and maintenance across our council housing stock. This is a hands-on role where your work will directly improve the safety, quality, and comfort of residents' homes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of repairs and maintenance works across multiple trades, including carpentry, basic plumbing, plastering, and general building works.
• Work in both tenanted and void properties, completing jobs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs with a strong right first-time approach.
• Use mobile technology to receive, manage, and record repair works.
• Deliver excellent customer service, communicating professionally and respectfully with residents and colleagues.
• Follow all health and safety, safeguarding, and council procedures always.

Qualifications

• Have proven experience working in a multi-trade housing repairs environment.
• Can work independently while managing a varied daily workload.
• Take pride in the quality of their work and customer satisfaction.
• Understand the importance of health and safety and safe systems of work.
• Are comfortable using handheld devices and digital systems.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Relevant trade qualifications are applicable for the role.
