Sandwell Council's HR Division is seeking a detailed Data Analytics Officer on a full time, 6 months fixed term basis. The organisation operates to a hybrid working model. This role will play a key part in enhancing our HR reporting capability, with a strong focus on developing and improving Power BI dashboards and workforce insight. You will work closely with HR and senior stakeholders to transform data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making across the Council.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards to support HR and workforce reporting
  • Analyse workforce data (e.g. absence, turnover, recruitment and demographics) to identify trends and insights
  • Extract, cleanse and validate data from systems such as Oracle Fusion HCM
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders
  • Support the development of standardised reporting frameworks and KPIs
  • Work collaboratively with HR, Finance and service areas to understand business needs
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy and compliance with data governance standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a data analytics or business intelligence role
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard development and data modelling
  • Experience working with HR or workforce data (desirable)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Experience using Excel, SQL or other data tools
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach
