Are you passionate about supporting people to live independently in their own homes? As a Home Support Assistant, you'll work as part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team supporting adults following illness, injury or a hospital stay. Through a person-centred approach, you'll help people maximise their independence, improve their wellbeing and remain safely within their own communities.

About the Role

In this rewarding role, you'll support people in their own homes following illness, injury, or a hospital stay. You'll work alongside them to rebuild their confidence and skills, encouraging independence. From supporting with personal care and mobility to helping prepare meals and manage daily routines, every day offers the chance to make a real difference.

Working Pattern:

32 hours per week on a rolling 4 days on, 4 days off rota.

Typical split shifts are:

  • 7:00am - 12:00pm
  • 5:30pm - 10:00pm

This rota provides increased contracted hours with a consistent working pattern and regular scheduled days off.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting with personal care, bathing, showering and toileting
  • Assisting with shopping and meal preparation
  • Supervising and administering medication
  • Supporting mobility and exercise programmes
  • Building confidence and encouraging independence
  • Monitoring wellbeing and reporting changes in need
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning
  • Promoting dignity, choice, privacy and respect at all times

We are looking for caring and committed individuals who:

  • Hold a full current driving licence and have access to a vehicle
  • Can work shifts, evenings, weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota
  • Have experience supporting adults with disabilities, older people or people with mental health needs
  • Are able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are committed to promoting independence and delivering person-centred support
