We are looking for an Environmental Enforcement Officer.

Job Summary:

  • Respond rapidly to incidents of environmental concern reported by elected members, senior managers, and the public.
  • Make decisions on appropriate actions, including enforcement such as issuing fixed penalty notices.
  • Lead prosecution efforts against individuals or businesses breaching legislation or regulations.
  • Manage and supervise the Environmental Rapid Response Team.
  • Collaborate with other teams within Public Protection & Community Safety for consistent enforcement.

Essential Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification plus 2 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in enforcement related to environmental health issues.
  • Experience in supervising and managing staff.
  • Knowledge of evidential requirements for enforcement and prosecution.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting enforcement case files.

Hours: 37 hours per week.
