We have an interesting opportunity where you will be getting involved in all aspects of delivering effective Customer Service, ranging from the daily delivery of customer service tasks, taking part in events and dealing with visitors. This is a varied role, offering excellent opportunities to develop your visitor service skills at Forge Mill Farm, including throughout our Farm Shop/Reception and the exciting new Play Barn creating a warm welcoming environment for our visitors.
Working week Monday to Sunday, 8:30am to 4:30pm or 9am to 5pm. Working on a rota basis, however there will be some evenings and Bank Holidays, depending on the Events Timetable. Total hours per week: 22 Hours.
Job Duties Will Include:
- Assist with the general day to day running of the Gift Shop/Reception Area, the Natural Play Barn Area and event outlets, including answering the phone, taking bookings, serving customers with goods, operating a till and general admin duties.
- Collating and recording the daily income, using the relevant paperwork or software.
- Confident to interact with people of all ages and abilities (this may include very young children, people who are vulnerable or with disabilities or large groups during school visits etc).
- Look after, support and communicate openly with visitors of all ages when they are using the centre and ensure the best service is being offered.
- Possess excellent verbal communication skills and feel comfortable in engaging with members of the public and visitors.
- Assist with external cleaning duties around the entrance areaβs β such as litter picking, sweeping etc, to ensure the environment is welcoming to visitors at all times.
- Assist with Internal cleaning duties within the shop/reception and play barn areas including sweeping, mopping and general daily cleaning, ensuring all environments are welcoming at all times throughout the day.
- Able to deal with emergency accidents, such as spillages and sickness as and when they happen.
- Support the booking and planning of events with the team, to ensure the public get the best possible experience.
- Prepare Resources for events where needed to ensure smooth delivery for our visitors.
- Opportunity to gain experience within our other teams, assisting when and where needed within the visitor attraction.
- Possess a flexible attitude to work from different sites within the Sandwell Borough, and you must be prepared to undertake occasional evening and weekend working.
