Overview: The Youth Service aims to provide opportunities to create personal learning and development opportunities for all young people in Sandwell. The service is made up of Centre Based, Detached, Youth Involvement and Inclusions Teams working across the six towns in Sandwell.
Responsibilities: You will lead a team of youth workers to plan and deliver services and activities within a centre based setting. You must be fun, engaging, patient, empathic and a good communicator, ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and they are supported to reach their full potential. Deliver high quality youth work to meet the needs and aspirations of young people.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience of working with young people and willingness to obtain qualifications in youth work as prescribed by management.
- A good attendance record – candidates should have less than 3 absences in the last six months or not more than 6 days absence over the six-month period prior to the closing date of the post. Any absences relating to a disability or any other incapacity will be viewed sympathetically and will be considered if fully explained. Should any candidate not meet these criteria and choose to include an explanation then this will be considered.
Hours Offered: 6 hours per week.
Additional Information: The successful applicant will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
