The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 Β£ per year.

Sandwell Museum Service is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Museum Technician to support all aspects of the technical and practical aspects of running our museum sites and deliver a high standard of customer care and public service to visitors of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

The post holder will join our busy creative team organising and delivering exciting displays and activities to visitors, users, and the local community and be responsible for realising team ideas with regards to designing, preparing, constructing, assembling and installing permanent and temporary displays and bespoke and interactive activities as well as operate and maintain tools.

The post holder will also safely handle, clean, pack, and transport museum artefacts, ensure health and safety procedures are followed, conduct risk assessments, and support COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) compliance.

The post holder will also work behind the scenes to support the running and maintenance of our busy heritage attractions and community spaces. The post holder will need a flexible approach to working as there will be regular weekends, bank holidays and evening working.

Hours: 37 hours per week to a flexible rota including regular weekends and some evenings and bank holidays.
