Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is the relevant authority for Black Country Coroners Service. The jurisdiction covers four areas, namely Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. We are seeking to appoint a person who is highly motivated with excellent communication skills. You will be both efficient and compassionate and can help families at what is likely a very difficult time in their lives.
You will be based at the Coroners Court, Jack Judge House in Oldbury which is the location of the Coroners Court and offices. The role will include administration to support the operational activities of the Coroners Office, which include supporting inquests, speaking to families via the telephone, face to face and via email. Some inquests will require a jury, and the role will include supporting the Coroner in the administration of setting this up and facilitation of all attendees on court days.
Applicants must have excellent ICT and administration skills. All necessary training, support and familiarisation will be provided.
