We’re on the hunt for creative, people-powered, experienced Organisational Development Consultants to join our dynamic team. Every day will be different as you engage widely with the Directorates and other HR Colleagues. Our newly formed Organisation Development (OD) team is vital for managing culture, transformation, and workforce planning. It ensures strategic alignment, minimises disruption, and helps to foster a resilient, engaged workforce. Creating real impact and service delivery, by supporting leadership, culture, and long-term planning. OD strengthens the organisation’s ability to adapt and deliver high-quality public services.
We are seeking enthusiastic, resilient and talented individuals to support Sandwell with enabling cultural projects and initiatives around the People Strategy and Workforce change. To drive behaviour, change and boost trust and consistency in the council.
ResponsibilitiesYou’ll act as a trusted partner to leaders and teams, helping to turn strategic workforce ambitions into practical outcomes. By building relationships across the council, you’ll identify opportunities for improvement, support the delivery of key projects, and share your expertise to help others navigate workforce change. A central part of your role will be championing the People Strategy, working to embed its principles into everyday practice, and using your influence to shape a culture where people feel valued, engaged, and empowered to contribute. Through coaching, collaboration, and a focus on inclusion, you’ll help create an environment where positive change is driven by our people, for our people, ensuring Sandwell Council is ready to meet both current and future challenges.
You’ll Need- Experience leading and advising on complex organisational and workforce change
- Strong knowledge of change management methodologies (such as ADKAR or Kotter) and organisational development principles
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and analytical skills
- The ability to coach and support leaders and teams through change
- Flexibility to work across council sites and adapt to changing priorities
